Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
delicious side dish, for the microwave
For the green mixture of the dumpling cake, mix the egg with the salt. Add the cold milk and parsley to the egg and whisk. Mix the first 200g of bread cubes with it thoroughly. Let stand for 20 minutes. For the yellow mixture, bring the milk to a boil, sprinkling in saffron threads as desired. Let the mixture simmer until the saffron threads are almost gone. Let the milk cool, then stir in the egg and salt. Mix in the remaining bread cubes thoroughly and let stand for 20 minutes. Loosely fill a baking dish (23x18cm, 8cm high) first with the green dumpling mixture, then with the yellow dumpling mixture. Moisten your hands and press the mixture flat to ensure the mixture blends. Cover the dish with microwave foil and microwave at 900 watts for 10-12 minutes. Let cool slightly before slicing. Goes well with grandma’s roast beans (in my recipes), or any other roast or goulash etc.
