Colorful Butter Cookies

The perfect colorful butter cookies recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

Cookie dough:

  • 200 g Butter at room temperature
  • 120 g Powdered sugar
  • 1 Egg yolk
  • Lemon zest
  • 1 Msp Salt
  • 300 g Spelled flour

for decoration:

  • 2 Egg yolk
  • 2 tbsp Cream
  • Colorful sprinkles
  • Chocolate sprinkles
  • Coconut flakes
  • Chopped almonds
  1. Process all dough ingredients into a smooth dough, shape into a ball and let rest in the refrigerator for at least 90 minutes. (I had the dough in the fridge overnight)
  2. Preheat the oven to 190 ° C and line the baking sheets with parchment paper. Whisk the cream with the egg yolk.
  3. Roll out the dough thinly in portions, cut out the biscuits, place on the baking sheet, brush with the egg yolk and cream mixture and decorate as you wish.
  4. Bake the cookies for about 8-10 minutes at 190 ° C.
