Colorful Indian Rice

The perfect colorful indian rice recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1 Cup Basmati rice, washed
  • 1,5 Cup Water
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 pinch Sugar
  • 1 Pc. Indian bay leaf
  • 2 Pc. Cloves
  • 2 Pc. Cardamom
  • 1 tsp Herb butter
  • 200 g Buttered vegetables
  1. Put the rice in a microwave bowl and soak it in the water.
  2. Then add the butter vegetables and herb butter.
  3. Stir in salt, sugar, cardamom, Indian bay leaf and cloves.
  4. Cook in the microwave at approx. 800 watts for 10 minutes. Stir it from time to time and be careful not to overflow.
  5. Let the rice swell completely, drain off the remaining water and let it stand briefly.
  6. It tastes good with meat curries as a side dish.
