Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 500 ml milk
- 250 ml rice
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- some butter
- 1 pinch of salt
- some food coloring of your choice
- Cocoa powder or sugar or cinnamon for sprinkling
- n. B. Fruit of your choice

Popular with kids – a small trick with a big impact
Rinse the pot with cold water to prevent the milk from burning. Simmer the milk, rice, vanilla sugar, food coloring, and butter gently until the rice is no longer liquid and is tender. Stir constantly! Use only a tiny bit of coloring—I used powdered coloring from the pharmacy (it dyes very well). Sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon, or cocoa, etc.—and top with fruit of your choice. My children eat more and more of the colored rice pudding—they get to choose the color beforehand and are always thrilled with the results.
