Colorful salad with ham cubes

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 500 g leaf salad (iceberg lettuce, lamb’s lettuce, arugula, …)
  • 200 g cherry tomatoes
  • 1 m.-sized cucumber(s)
  • 1 handful of croutons
  • 1 pack of lean ham, diced
  • 1 pack of mozzarella (mini)
  • 1 pack of garden cress
  • some salt and pepper
  • chili powder
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 large onion(s), red

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 12 hours; Total time approx. 12 hours 20 minutes

Finely dice the onion and toss with balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt, pepper, and chili powder. Let the dressing sit (preferably overnight) so the onions can marinate. Wash and chop the lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumber, and toss with the mozzarella balls and garden cress. Sear the ham cubes in a pan without adding any additional fat. Sprinkle the still-warm ham cubes over the salad, toss with the dressing, and top with croutons.
