Colorful vegetable casserole with ham

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 3 potatoes
  • ½ cauliflower
  • ½ broccoli
  • 4 carrots
  • ½ kohlrabi
  • 100 g salmon ham
  • 200 ml cream
  • 200 ml milk
  • 1 tbsp, heaped butter
  • 1 tbsp, heaped flour
  • 1 bunch of parsley
  • 200g Gouda
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • Caraway seeds

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Clean, wash, and slice the potatoes and vegetables, then cook until al dente and season lightly with salt. Meanwhile, make a roux from the butter and flour and pour in the cream and milk. Add all the spices and finely chopped parsley, and season to taste. Dice the ham. Arrange the vegetables in the baking dish and add the ham. Pour the sauce over the top. Finally, sprinkle with cheese. Bake everything at 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit) for about 20 minutes, until the cheese is golden brown.
