Colorful potato and vegetable casserole with minced meat

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 600 g jacket potatoes or boiled potatoes, possibly from the previous day
  • 750 g vegetables, frozen, e.g. Kaisergemüse
  • 750 g minced meat, ready seasoned
  • 200 ml vegetable stock
  • 200 ml cream
  • 200 g processed cheese
  • 150 g cheese, grated
  • Sauce thickener, light
  • e.g. nutmeg, freshly grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

Peel the potatoes, slice them, and arrange them in a greased dish. Cook the vegetables in salted water for about 5 minutes, drain, rinse, and spread them over the potatoes. Season with nutmeg, if desired. Fry the minced meat until crumbly. Add the broth and cream, stir in the processed cheese, and simmer until melted. Thicken slightly with a sauce thickener. Pour the sauce over the vegetables and sprinkle with the cheese. Bake for about 20-25 minutes in a preheated oven at 180°C (top/bottom heat).
