Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 175 g butter (soft)
  • 210 g sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 large egg(s)
  • 100 g beet syrup
  • 370 g flour
  • 1 ½ tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp clove(s), ground
  • 50 g sugar
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Preheat the oven to 190°C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Cream the softened butter with the sugar and salt until creamy. Beat in the egg until well combined. Then stir in the sugar beet syrup. Mix the flour with the baking soda, ginger, cinnamon and clove powder and stir into the butter mixture. Mix the 50g sugar with the cinnamon in a small bowl. Take 15g pieces of dough and shape them into rounds. Roll them in the sugar/cinnamon mixture and place them on the baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for about 11-13 minutes, remove from the oven and let cool completely on a wire rack. The dough yields about 50 pieces.
