Cooking Without a Stove: Cold Dishes & Alternatives

Cooking without a stove – which cold dishes are there?

The ultimate alternative to stovetop cooking is cold food. Because you certainly don’t want a sandwich every day, we’ve collected a few more varied ideas for you here.

  • Salads are classic cold dishes. The great thing is that they come in a very large variety and you certainly won’t overeat quickly. You can add tofu, breadcrumbs, or pre-fried meat from the supermarket for a better feeling of satiety.
  • Cold soups are also a good idea if you need to cook without a stove. For cold vegetable soups, all you need is a blender that will process all the ingredients. With the right seasoning, you’ll have a healthy meal in no time.
  • Wraps are also wonderfully cook-off and easy to eat if you roll the wraps properly. Filled with ham, cheese, vegetables, and sauces, you also have a tasty alternative. Wraps can also be eaten in many different ways and even sweet, for example with Nutella and banana.
  • Another idea is to switch to supermarkets, delivery services, or restaurants. So that this does not become too expensive in the long run, you can also order individual ingredients. In supermarkets, for example, there are more and more hot counters that primarily heat up meat or prepare toast and panini for you.

Cooking without a stove – What are the alternatives?

Even if there are some cold dishes, you don’t have to do without warm meals. If you don’t have a stove at the moment, for example, because it’s broken or you can’t afford one, then consider that there are other alternatives. These can not only be cheaper but may even already be available in the household.

  • Kettle: You can already add a few dishes to your stove-free kitchen with a kettle. In addition to warm soups and risotto, you can also cook couscous, pasta, or eggs. Instant and ready meals are also easily prepared with a kettle.
  • Plate grill: A plate grill is a simple alternative to the stove. You can make toasts, grill meat, cook eggs, and grill vegetables. Especially for meat lovers, it is worth investing in a plate grill without a stove.
  • Microwave: An ideal alternative for cooking without a stove is a microwave. There are countless microwave recipes that you can then fall back on. Many ingredients from the supermarket are also only designed for microwaves. You can even do some baking with it if you want.
  • And without electricity? If the power fails so you can’t use your stove, there is always the option to go outside to prepare something warm. With a grill, you can cook almost everything as you would on a stove. A campfire with a grate is another alternative.
