Stove in front of the window: You should therefore avoid this if possible
There are a few things to consider when planning a kitchen. Among other things, it is inconvenient to place the hearth under the window. However, if this division cannot be avoided at all, you should consider a few things.
- If there is a window pane directly behind the stove, it will be more heavily soiled than if the stove is somewhere else in the kitchen.
- Grease and food splashes are the order of the day here. Window cleaning is therefore necessary much more often.
- Due to the steam produced and the heat from cooking, your windows will always be fogged up.
- This can be remedied, among other things, by an extractor hood. But even this cannot simply be attached. After all, the window is in the way. The only option is an extractor hood that is attached to the ceiling. This is associated with more effort and higher costs.
- A beautiful window decoration is only possible to a limited extent with a stove in front of it. Sensitive plants will sometimes not like the warm, humid air and the kitchen fumes. You should also avoid curtains or interior blinds, as they get dirty more quickly.
- If you simply tilt the window while cooking, the flow of air cools the cooking odors. You will then be directed into the room. This means: that kitchen odors stick longer and are more persistent.
- In addition, vapors form in the room, which then settles on worktops, walls, and floors. The result is a greasy film on all surfaces.
