Country women's sausage ragout

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 125 g bacon cubes
  • 1 medium-sized onion(s), finely chopped
  • 500 g mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper(s), red
  • 1 cup sour cream, approx. 200 g
  • 1 cup of cream, approx. 200 ml
  • e.g. milk
  • 650 g meat sausage, cut into small pieces
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp broth, granulated
  • 2 pinches of sugar
  • ½ tbsp paprika powder, sweet
  • ½ tbsp mustard, medium hot
  • Flour for thickening

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Fry the bacon and onions in oil. Slice the mushrooms and bell peppers and add them to the pan. Once the liquid has evaporated, deglaze with a little milk. Stir in the cream and mustard. Add the finely chopped sausage. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season to taste. Serve with rice, pasta, or potatoes. A green leaf salad with a light dressing completes the dish.
