Cream cheese bagel with tomatoes

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 bagels, multigrain (fresh or for baking)
  • 2 tbsp double cream cheese or yogurt cream cheese
  • 2 tsp ketchup
  • 1 large tomato(s)
  • 1 handful of lettuce (e.g. iceberg lettuce)
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 3 minutes; Total time approx. 8 minutes

a fresh and healthy snack – not just for summer!

Preheat the oven to 250°C. If necessary, bake the bagels in the oven. Halve them and spread cream cheese on the bottom and a thin layer of ketchup on the top. Chop the lettuce, if desired, and place it on the cream cheese half. Slice the tomato and top it with ketchup on the ketchup half. Season with salt and pepper. Carefully fold the two halves together, securing with a toothpick if necessary. Now place them in the oven for about 3 minutes, until the top begins to brown. (It’s better to stay there, depending on how hot the oven is!) Serve immediately.
