Crispy chicken with sweet and sour sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 chicken breast fillets or minute steaks
  • 4 tbsp tomato paste
  • 4 tsp sugar
  • ½ can bamboo slices (500 g)
  • ½ can pineapple pieces
  • 1 bell pepper(s)
  • 1 carrot(s)
  • 500 ml passion fruit juice (nectar)
  • some flour (tempura flour)
  • n. B. water
  • 2 tsp sweet paprika powder
  • salt and pepper
  • some oil
  • some cornstarch

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

easy and fast

First, bring the passion fruit juice to a boil, then stir in the tomato paste and sugar. Chop the vegetables and pineapple pieces and add them to the juice. Now thicken the sauce with the cornstarch. To do this, mix the cornstarch with water and add it to the sauce. Mix the tempura flour with the paprika and water to form a light orange batter. Season the chicken with salt and pepper, coat it in the batter, and fry it in a pan with cooking oil. Serve with rice.
