Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 500 g flour
- 250 g margarine
- 200 g sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 packets of vanilla sugar
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 jar jam of your choice (plum, cherry, wild berry, apricot)
Instructions
Working time approx. 1 hour; Rest time approx. 3 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 4 hours 25 minutes
Knead the flour, margarine, sugar, eggs, and vanilla sugar with a pinch of salt into a smooth dough. Wrap the dough in cling film and refrigerate for 45 minutes. In the meantime, grease the tins well. Divide 2/3 of the dough between the bases of 14 small tart tins, approximately 50g per tin. Form a small lip around the edge. Then spread the jam evenly over all the bases. Be careful not to spread the jam over the edges, otherwise the dough will stick to the tins after baking. Use the remaining dough for the 4 strips, approximately 25g per tin. You can roll out the dough thinly and cut into strips, or you can simply roll thin strips by hand and then arrange them crosswise on the jam. Bake at 175°C (fan oven) for approximately 25 minutes, until browned. Allow to cool slightly and carefully remove from the tins.
