  • 250 ml Milk lukewarm
  • 500 g Flour
  • 100 g Butter
  • 60 g Sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 liter Oil for frying
  • Sugar
  • Vanilla sugar
  1. Dissolve the yeast in the lukewarm milk.
  2. Put the flour, butter, sugar, salt, and egg in a mixing bowl. Add the yeast milk and knead everything into a smooth dough, approx. 5-7 minutes.
  3. Shape the yeast dough into a ball and let rise, covered, in a warm place for about 1 hour until it has doubled.
  4. Knead the dough again after the rising time. Then roll out the dough about 1 cm thick and cut out rectangles of about 5×3 cm. Cut a small slit in each rectangle and pull through one corner or two corners of the rectangle. Place the dough pieces on a baking sheet or wooden board lined with baking paper, cover with a clean tea towel and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  5. In the meantime, heat the neutral oil in a large saucepan. Mix sugar with vanilla sugar and prepare. Put kitchen towels ready to drain.
  6. Then bake the crumbs on both sides in about 160 ° C hot oil for about 2-3 minutes. Then drain on kitchen paper and roll in the vanilla-sugar mixture.
