the tastiest sandwich in the world – simple, quick, affordable

Halve the baguettes and slice them open. Brush the cut sides with butter and fry in a pan over medium heat until brown. Add a little oil to a second pan and briefly fry the ham. Cut the gherkins lengthwise into thin slices. Spread the bread with mustard on both sides. Arrange the gherkin slices, ham, roast pork, and cheese on top. Cover with the other half of the bread. Brush with butter again on both sides. Without a sandwich/panini maker: Heat a heavy pot. Place a frying pan on the pan and place the sandwich in the pan over medium heat. Place the hot pan on the sandwich, applying light pressure, and fry the bread on both sides until crispy. In the oven: Place a frying pan on the pan and place the sandwich in the pan over medium heat. Fry until crispy on both sides, then place in the oven at 180°C until the cheese is melted. Halve and serve with chips and gherkins, if desired.
