Cucumber Relish from America

The perfect cucumber relish from america recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 800 g Cucumbers
  • 300 g Onions white
  • 1 Garlic cloves chopped
  • 1 Red chilli pepper without seeds
  • 200 g Sugar brown raw sugar
  • 250 ml White balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tsp Coated mustard powder
  • 1 pinch Sea salt fine
  • 2 tbsp Chopped dill
  1. Peel the cucumber, cut in half lengthways, remove the seeds and cut into small cubes.
  2. Peel the onions, garlic, halve the chilli peppers, remove the stalk and also cut everything into cubes.
  3. Put the diced cucumbers in a saucepan with the sugar, vinegar, mustard powder (I used mustard seeds) and salt. Bring to the boil while stirring.
  4. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 40 minutes.
  5. Stir in the finely chopped dill for the last 2-3 minutes.
  6. Season again to taste and pour into the prepared glasses.
  7. Close with the preserving ring, glass lid and masonry clamps.
  8. Boil in a 90 ° C water bath for 30 minutes.
  9. This relish tastes very good with grilled meat or homemade hamburgers.
