Currant and Banana Spread
The perfect currant and banana spread recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 250 g Currants fresh or frozen
- 250 g Bananas
- 250 g Sugar
- 1 packet Ground gelatine, approx. 9 grams
- 1 tsp Rum flavor, optional
- First puree the currants, bananas and sugar and briefly bring to the boil in a Teflon-coated saucepan, about 5-10 minutes over medium heat.
- In the meantime, let the gelatin swell,
- Take the pot off the stove and let it cool down to about 60 degrees.
- Add the gelatine and flavoring and stir in well.
- Fill into jam jars and let set in the refrigerator.
- You should use the spread rather quickly and always store it in the refrigerator.
