Currant and Banana Spread

The perfect currant and banana spread recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 250 g Currants fresh or frozen
  • 250 g Bananas
  • 250 g Sugar
  • 1 packet Ground gelatine, approx. 9 grams
  • 1 tsp Rum flavor, optional
  1. First puree the currants, bananas and sugar and briefly bring to the boil in a Teflon-coated saucepan, about 5-10 minutes over medium heat.
  2. In the meantime, let the gelatin swell,
  3. Take the pot off the stove and let it cool down to about 60 degrees.
  4. Add the gelatine and flavoring and stir in well.
  5. Fill into jam jars and let set in the refrigerator.
  6. You should use the spread rather quickly and always store it in the refrigerator.
