Currant-Orange Chutney

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 oranges
  • 250 g onion(s)
  • 2 chili peppers
  • 500 g currants
  • 200 ml vinegar (red wine vinegar)
  • 100 ml red wine
  • 250 g gelling sugar, 2:1
  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 2 hours

Wash the currants and separate them from the stalks. Fillet the oranges, halve the segments, and collect the juice. Peel and finely dice the onions. Deseed the chili peppers under running water and cut into small pieces. Bring the vinegar, wine, salt, and onions to a boil. Add the sugar, the orange segments with juice, and the cleaned currants and simmer for 4 minutes. While still boiling, pour into sterilized jars. Turn the jars upside down for 3-5 minutes and then let cool. 100 g = 97 cal/0.1 g fat/0.6 g protein/1.2 P
