Curry Lentils in Plaited Bacon Bowl
The perfect curry lentils in plaited bacon bowl recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
Bacon bowl
- Streaky bacon

- 150 g Lenses
- 600 ml Water
- Vegetable broth powder
- 2 small Onion
- Salt and pepper
- Curry powder
Bacon bowl
- pack a heat-resistant container with aluminum foil – braid the bacon slices all around (ATTENTION: the bacon contracts a little when frying, so work the ends well overlapping otherwise there will be holes)
- Now wrap the whole thing again in aluminum foil and roast in the oven at 250 degrees for about 20 minutes – then carefully unpack the bacon bowls

- Read out the lentils and then wash them in a sieve – add some vegetable stock powder (recipe in my cookbook) or granulated broth to the boiling water – let simmer for 25 to 30 minutes until the lentils are soft – then pour through a sieve ATTENTION: collect the lentil liquid and provide
- Cut the onion into fine cubes and sweat in hot oil – now add the lentils and fry them briefly – add the lentil liquid again and season with salt, pepper and madras curry
Side dishes
- as a side dish we had bread dumplings and sausage octopus wrapped in bacon and fried briefly
Serve and decorate
- Now fill the lentils in the bacon bowls and serve with the other side dishes – decorate with a few spring onion rolls
