Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 bell pepper(s), red, diced
- 4 tomatoes, peeled and diced
- 2 onions, diced
- 1 can/n tomatoes, chopped
- 1 can of tomatoes, pureed
- 1 jar Hungarian-style paprika sauce
- 200 ml curry ketchup
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 5 tbsp soy sauce
- 3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp paprika powder
- 1 tbsp curry powder
- 4 sausages for grilling
- ½ tsp chili powder
- ½ tsp salt and pepper
- 3 tbsp germ oil
- 1 tbsp lard, margarine or butter
Instructions
Working time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes
Pour oil into a pot and fry the peppers and onions. Then add the tomato pieces. Gradually add the canned tomatoes, gypsy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, and the remaining ingredients and seasonings and simmer for about 30 minutes (stirring regularly). Meanwhile, fry the grilled sausages with the lard in a pan for 3 to 4 minutes on each side. Cut into small pieces and set aside. After 30 minutes, remove the sauce from the heat and pass it through a sieve. Then return it to the pot and add the sausage pieces. Season to taste with paprika, salt, pepper, chili powder, and, of course, plenty of curry, and serve. We served it with fries—what else!
