Hobbit-style Bolognese sauce

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 500 g minced meat, mixed
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 3 carrots
  • 1 small can of peeled tomatoes (425 ml)
  • 500 ml vegetable stock
  • 3 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • e.g. salt and pepper
  • e.g. cayenne pepper
  • e.g. soy sauce
  • 1 sprig rosemary
  • some ketchup as needed

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Peel and finely dice the onion. Peel and finely dice the carrots. Pluck the rosemary leaves from the stalks and finely chop them. Dice the canned tomatoes. Heat the oil in a large pot and brown the minced meat. Add the diced onion and carrot and season generously with the spices and rosemary. Then add the diced tomatoes and tomato paste, along with the remaining tomato juice from the can. Pour in the vegetable stock and simmer for about half an hour. Once the diced carrots are tender, season again with ketchup, soy sauce, and salt, if necessary. Serve with spaghetti or macaroni and Parmesan cheese. Serve with a green or mixed salad.
