Variant 1: This keeps the peppers in one piece when you cut them
Most people first cut out the top of the pepper in a circle and then peel out the core. With this variant, however, cutting the peppers is quicker and easier:
- Place the peppers on a cutting board and first cut off the top end with the stalk. You should use a knife with a blade about the length of the pepper.
- Next, cut off the bottom of the peppers.
- Then cut the peppers from top to bottom.
- Now insert your knife into the inside of the peppers and cut out the core. To do this, place the knife directly on the spot that you previously cut lengthwise. While holding your knife, roll the peppers on the cutting board.
- Finally, detach the stalk from the top end.
- You can continue to use the severed lower end and the upper end without the stalk. The core casing belongs to the organic waste.
- In our picture gallery, you can follow this variant in individual steps.
2nd variant: How to quickly chop a pepper
If you want to cut a lot of peppers in a short time, we recommend this variant:
- First cut off the stalk and the bottom of the peppers.
- Next, place the peppers on your cutting board, and narrow the part down.
- Now separate the sides of the peppers by running your knife from top to bottom along the core (see picture).
- Finally, detach the stalk from the top end.
