Dal Shorba

The perfect dal shorba recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1 piece Onion
  • 1 piece Clove of garlic
  • 40 g Butter
  • 200 g Lentils red
  • 0,5 tsp Ground cumin
  • 1 tsp Turmeric
  • 2 tsp Garam masala
  • 1 Can Peeled tomatoes
  • 600 ml Vegetable broth
  • Chili powder
  • Salt
  1. Chop the onion and clove of garlic. Sauté together with the butter, lentils, turmeric and spices. Caution: do not let it burn! Add the peeled tomatoes, coconut milk and vegetable stock and bring to the boil without the lid. Let everything simmer on a low flame for about 20 minutes. Puree the soup and season with chili powder and salt.
