Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 30 soft dates
- 8 sheets of rice paper
- 10 tbsp spiced ketchup
- 3 tbsp water
- 2 tsp liquid smoke
- 1 tsp salt
- n. B. Oil for frying
- 30 toothpicks
Instructions
Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 2 minutes; Total time approx. 27 minutes
vegan version of ‘Bacon-wrapped dates’
Lightly score the dates and remove the pits. Chop the rice paper into approximately 4 cm wide strips. Mix the ketchup, water, liquid smoke, and salt into a thick marinade. Dip the rice paper strips into the marinade and place them on top of each other on a plate. Let the strips sit until they are soft, about 5 minutes. Wrap each date with two strips of rice paper, skewer them, and fry briefly on both sides.
