Doctor Names the Most Dangerous Nut for the Body

The nutritionist told us how many nuts we can eat a day without harming our health and named them the most dangerous nut. Nutritionist Maria Shubina told us which nuts are dangerous for the body and named the reason why. According to the expert, peanuts, almonds, and macadamia are the most dangerous nuts.

As the nutritionist explained, peanuts, which are not a nut but a legume from the botanical point of view, are often infected with molds and therefore contain aflatoxin.

“If we talk about the danger of nuts, I would put peanuts, or groundnuts, as they are also called, in the first place, because they often contain aflatoxin, a toxin produced by molds that often infect peanuts. It is dangerous because it is a carcinogen, it can cause developmental delays in humans, and it can reduce the body’s defenses, making it more susceptible to infection,” Shubina notes.

In addition, almonds can be dangerous because they are “one of the most common allergens among nuts, and macadamia because it is the fattest and most caloric of all types of nuts.”

Shubina also named the healthiest nuts in her opinion: walnuts, cashews, and hazelnuts.

“I would include walnuts in the top 3 healthy nuts, they are the champions in omega-3 content among nuts. Second place would go to cashews for their lowest calorie content and highest protein content. The third place would go to hazelnuts, which holds the record for magnesium, a natural anti-stress factor,” the nutritionist said. At the same time, she emphasized that all nuts are good and healthy in their own way, but one should not exceed the daily allowable limit of 20-40 grams of nuts.

According to the expert, this amount of nuts eaten per day will not cause any health problems or problems with the figure.
