Buttermilk drink from Afghanistan

Mix the cucumber strips with salt and let them steep for at least 2 hours. Then drain in a sieve. Place the cucumber in a cheesecloth or kitchen towel and squeeze vigorously. Now combine all ingredients in a tall glass and blend thoroughly with a hand blender. Add two ice cubes to each glass and pour the mixture over the glass. This summer drink replenishes the electrolytes lost through sweating in the summer heat.
