Dried apple rings

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 5 m.-sized apples
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • ½ lemon(s)
  • 1 liter of water

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Pour the water into a bowl and mix with a pinch of salt and the juice of half a lemon. Peel the apples and core them. Slice the apples. The thinner the slices, the quicker the apple rings will be ready. About 3-5 mm is ideal. To prevent the apples from tarnishing, soak the slices in the lemon water for about 10 minutes. Make sure all the slices are as completely covered in the liquid as possible. Perhaps place a plate on top. Then place the rings on a wire rack to drain. There are various ways to dry the rings: You can dry them in the oven for several hours at about 50°C with the oven door slightly open, or you can hang them on a line for three to four days. The apple rings are ready when they are pliable and leathery and no more juice runs out when squeezed.
