Drying Tarragon – That’s How it Works

Instructions: Dry the tarragon properly

You can freeze or dry tarragon. Tarragon is often dried, although some of the flavors are lost in the process.

  • Be sure to remove the leaves from the stems before drying. This ensures that the aroma does not retreat into the stems.
  • Simply spread the leaves out on a baking sheet and let the tarragon dry in a shady spot. The herbs should not be exposed to sunlight and high humidity. Otherwise, they risk becoming moldy and losing their aroma.
  • You can then store the dried tarragon in a cool, dark place. Make sure that you use a container that is as opaque as possible.
