Hessian bacon and sour cream sauce

Cut the bacon and onion into small cubes and fry in oil. The onions shouldn’t brown. Then add the sour cream and bring to a boil. Season with salt and pepper. Serve with boiled potatoes, foil-wrapped potatoes, potato wedges, or even just plain white bread. This is an old Hessian “poor man’s” recipe, which is quite high in calories in the original. But it also tastes great in a reduced version with ham and sour cream. The name derives from dipping – in Hessian, “ducken” (ducking).
