Dumplings with mashed potatoes

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 3 onions, finely chopped
  • n. B. Dill
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 packet of dry yeast
  • 500 g flour
  • 200 ml water
  • 200 ml milk
  • n. B. Oil
  • 1 sachet of mashed potato powder (pack for 3 x 4 servings, 1 sachet of which)
  • 500 ml water
  • 200 ml milk 1.5%
  • 1 tsp, leveled salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 45 minutes

Prepare 1 sachet of mashed potato powder with the other ingredients according to the package instructions. Knead the flour, egg, milk, yeast dissolved in water, and salt into a dough and let it rest for about 1 hour. Fry the onions in a pan with a little oil. Then mix the onions into the mashed potatoes and add the dill as desired. Roll out the dough. Use a glass or other round object to cut out circles. Place some of the mashed potato in the center of the circles and cover with a second circle. Press the edges firmly and carefully roll out a little more. Add oil to the pan and heat. Then add the dumplings in batches and fry until golden brown on both sides, about 3 minutes on each side.
