Ingredients for 20 servings:

  • 1 kg flour
  • 150 g butter
  • 150 g sugar
  • 1 pack of yeast
  • ½ liter of milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1 tbsp rum
  • ½ lemon(s), zest, grated
  • 3 drops butter-vanilla flavoring

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 3 hours; Total time approx. 3 hours 30 minutes

Put the flour in a bowl, add the salt, egg yolk, and vanilla sugar. Melt the butter and heat it with the sugar, milk, rum, lemon zest, and vanilla extract. Mix a little warm milk with 1 teaspoon of sugar and the yeast and add to the flour mixture. Let it rise. Once the pre-dough has risen, knead it with the sugar and milk mixture. Let the dough rise a few times. Shape the dough into a loaf, brush with egg yolk, score it, then let it rise for another 30 minutes and bake for 50 minutes at 170 degrees Celsius. Cover with baking paper halfway through.
