Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 eggs
  • 4 slices of toast
  • butter
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Egg in a basket

You can either use several large pans or prepare the “eggs in a basket” one after the other. Heat the butter. Use a glass to cut a circular hole in the center of the sandwich slices. Place the bread in the pan and fry lightly. Crack a raw egg into the center of each slice and season with salt and pepper, if desired. Let the egg set, turning everything over once to ensure it’s “cooked.” Serve it plain, with ketchup, cheese (you can melt it), jam, or tomatoes.
