easy to make and nice to look at

Mix the flour with the baking powder, sugar, and vanilla sugar. Add the milk, flavoring, and butter and knead into a firm, smooth dough. This works particularly well with a food processor. If the dough is too sticky, chill briefly. Shape the dough into rolls (about 1-2 cm in diameter), wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 2-3 hours. Preheat the oven (top/bottom heat) to approximately 180°C. Cut the cold dough rolls into 1/2 cm thick slices with a knife and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Use the end of a wooden skewer to make two buttonholes (it’s okay if they’re pressed through). Bake in the hot oven for about 10 minutes. Let cool. Melt the chocolate coating and mix with the oil. Cover the edges of the buttons with the chocolate and sprinkle with the sugar sprinkles.
