Enjoy Vegan Fondue: The Best Tips and Ideas

Enjoy vegan fondue: With fat or broth

Vegans can enjoy fondue just as much as “meat eaters” – just with different ingredients.

  • When it comes to fondue, the fat in which it is fried plays a major role. On the one hand, it must be highly heatable and, on the other hand, it must be tasteless. Sunflower oil or coconut oil meet these criteria and are also vegan.
  • You can also use vegetable broth instead of fat. Then it is not fried, but cooked. The fondue becomes very tasty in this variant if you give the vegetable broth a special aroma with spices such as thyme or rosemary.

Delicious vegetables – that fit

Actually, all types of vegetables are suitable for a vegan fondue.

  • However, some firm varieties such as carrots or parsnips should be pre-cooked briefly in salted water.
  • Before the vegetables are put on the table, they should be washed and dried well.
  • Mushrooms, zucchini, or other soft vegetables can be offered raw.

Vegan dips for fondue

Fondue includes dips. These should not be missing from the vegan version either.

  • An avocado wasabi dip is quick to make. You simply add the pulp of an avocado and some lime juice and wasabi to the blender. Seasoned with soy sauce, salt, and pepper.
  • For a sweet sweet curry dip, mix vegan sour cream, some agave syrup, and sweet mustard into a creamy mass. Then curry powder and a little vinegar are thoroughly stirred in and seasoned with salt and pepper.
