Cooking food in the steam cooker – you should bear this in mind

Although cooking with a steam cooker takes place almost automatically, you should consider a few things in advance.

  • In a steam cooker, you can conveniently cook different foods together. However, you should not necessarily place the food in the same cooking chamber.
  • Foods require different cooking times. If the food is indifferent to cooking chambers, you can easily remove the food that has already been cooked at any time. The other foods are unaffected and continue to cook.
  • Be sure to divide foods, such as vegetables, into evenly sized pieces as much as possible so that the cooking time is the same for all portions.
  • If you use several cooking chambers, you also have the advantage that the flavors of the various foods do not mix.
  • The hot steam releases the aromatic substances more quickly and the food takes on the taste and scent of spices, such as herbs, particularly intensively. Therefore, place fresh herbs such as thyme or rosemary in the individual cooking chambers.
  • Tip: give your food an additional aromatic note by adding some wine to the water, for example.
