Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g bratwurst, fresh
  • 200 g bacon, streaky
  • 450 g beans from the can (white, red, brown…)
  • 400 g tomatoes, from the can
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Peel the onion and slice into thin strips. Dice the sausage and bacon. Drain the beans and rinse under running water. Heat the oil in a pan and sauté the onion. Add the sausage and bacon and fry. Add the chopped tomatoes and their juices. Season with sugar and mustard and bring to a boil. Simmer on high for half an hour, stirring occasionally. Then add the beans and simmer for a few more minutes to heat through. Season with salt and pepper. Serve very hot with bread!
