Ingredients for 5 servings:
- 2 jars of beans, young brown, 420g each.
- 150 g bacon, streaky, diced
- 2 medium-sized onions, diced
- 1 ½ tbsp flour
- 5 sausages, Mettendchen or Landjäger
- Savory, fresh or dried
- Pepper from the mill
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes
Fry the bacon in a pan until crispy, then add the onions and sauté until translucent. Dust with flour and brown briefly. Then pour the liquid over the beans, stir, season with savory and pepper, and simmer for about 10 minutes over low heat. Add the sausages, either whole or sliced. Simmer gently for another 10 minutes. Season again, and you’re done. I prefer to leave the sausages whole, so they stay nice and moist. If the mixture is still very runny, I stir in a little roux or Mondamin. Serve with boiled potatoes.
