Working time approx. 1 hour; Rest time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 3 hours 30 minutes
Burger Buns: Dissolve the yeast and sugar in lukewarm water. Combine the flour, milk, salt, yeast mix, oil, and flour in a bowl. Separate the egg and add the egg white to the bowl. Refrigerate the egg yolk; it will be used later. Knead the ingredients in the bowl until a smooth dough forms. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 60 minutes, or overnight in the refrigerator. When the dough has roughly doubled in size, knead it again briefly and divide it into four balls. Flatten the dough pieces, place them on baking paper, and flatten them slightly. Then let the pieces rise for another 30 minutes. Mix the remaining egg yolk with a little water and brush the buns with it. Finally, sprinkle the buns with sesame seeds and bake at 200°C (top/bottom heat) for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Sauce: Finely dice the gherkin and mix with mayonnaise, ketchup, vinegar, barbecue sauce, salt, and pepper. Burgers: Slice the tomatoes and feta cheese. Form the ground beef into four equal-sized patties. Meanwhile, fry the bacon in a pan without any fat until crispy and brown, then keep warm. Then fry the patties in the same pan, top with the cheddar cheese, and keep warm. Finally, cut the buns in half and toast briefly in the pan, adding a little more butter if desired. Now spread the sauce on both sides of the buns and top with the patty, bacon, feta cheese, tomatoes, and lettuce. Your delicious burgers are ready!
