Fiery Tabasco pot

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 600 g pork (boneless pork neck)
  • Clarified butter, for frying
  • 1 can mushrooms, small, whole
  • 1 small onion(s) (vegetable onion, approx. 300g)
  • 200 ml tomato ketchup
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tsp Tabasco
  • 1 tsp steak seasoning mix
  • 1 tbsp basil, dried
  • Fresh basil for garnishing

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest period approx. 1 day; Total time approx. 1 day 30 minutes

Wash the meat, pat dry, and cut into 4-5 slices. Place in a small greased roasting pan. Drain the mushrooms and slice the onion. Spread both over the meat. Mix together the ketchup, soy sauce, Tabasco, seasoning mix, and basil. Pour evenly over the meat, cover, and refrigerate for about 24 hours. Cover the Tabasco pot and simmer in a preheated oven at 200°C for 1 3/4 to 2 hours. Then remove the lid and simmer for another 20 minutes. Garnish with basil to serve. Serve with flatbread or rice.
