fruity and spicy, for 60 pieces

Filling: Chop the figs, raisins, candied orange peel, almonds, and chocolate in a food processor until lumpy. Add the spices and chill. Dough: Mix the flour, baking powder, and sugar, add the butter, egg, and one egg yolk, and knead into a smooth dough. Wrap the dough in foil and chill for 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees (top/bottom heat). Lightly flour the work surface, divide the dough into two pieces, and roll each out into a long rectangle about 3 mm thick. Roll half of the filling into a sausage shape and place it in the center of the rectangle. Mix the egg yolk and milk together and brush the edges of the rectangle with it. Roll up and cut into slices about 2 cm thick. Place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and flatten slightly with a fork. Mix the second egg yolk with the milk, brush the circles with the egg wash, and bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
