Filled croissants

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 20 sheets of puff pastry (frozen, large sheets)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 jar Nutella
  • 2 packs of bacon, diced
  • 2 bags of cheese (Gouda or Emmental), diced

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

enough for 20 pieces

Thaw the frozen puff pastry. Beat the eggs in a cup with a fork. Once the puff pastry has thawed, brush both sides with the egg. Now, depending on your taste, spread 1 tablespoon of Nutella (or other hazelnut spread) or 1 1/2 teaspoons each of bacon and cheese on each piece of puff pastry. Fold the puff pastry pieces together, press the edges together, and fold over. Cut slits in the top and place about 9-10 pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 15 minutes, until they have risen and are golden brown. You can basically fill the croissants with anything you can think of. Versions with jam, applesauce, sugar, cinnamon, etc. are also delicious. There’s no exact amount you can give; you’ll just have to try it. These croissants are perfect with coffee, as a snack, or on the go. They will keep for up to 10 days in a sealed container.
