Florentine Christmas Cookies

The perfect florentine christmas cookies recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

Makes about 40 pieces.

  • 200 g Candied fruits mixed
  • 30 g Butter
  • 1 Pck. Vanilla sugar
  • 100 g Sugar
  • 50 g Flour
  • 200 g Almond flakes
  • 200 ml Cream

For decoration

  • 100 g Dark chocolate couverture
  1. First you put the butter in a saucepan and let it melt. Then add the fruit, sugar, vanilla sugar, flour and almond flakes and mix the mixture well. Caution: do not turn the hotplate too hot, otherwise the sugar will burn in.
  2. Finally, add the cream and let everything boil properly. Now the pot can be taken off the stove. Place small piles on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Bake at around 170 degrees Celsius for around 15-20 minutes.
  3. After baking, take out the florentines and place them flat side up. The flat side is then coated with couverture. (Melt these in the water bath during the cooling process.
