Florentine Christmas Cookies
The perfect florentine christmas cookies recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
Makes about 40 pieces.
- 200 g Candied fruits mixed
- 30 g Butter
- 1 Pck. Vanilla sugar
- 100 g Sugar
- 50 g Flour
- 200 g Almond flakes
- 200 ml Cream
For decoration
- 100 g Dark chocolate couverture
- First you put the butter in a saucepan and let it melt. Then add the fruit, sugar, vanilla sugar, flour and almond flakes and mix the mixture well. Caution: do not turn the hotplate too hot, otherwise the sugar will burn in.
- Finally, add the cream and let everything boil properly. Now the pot can be taken off the stove. Place small piles on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Bake at around 170 degrees Celsius for around 15-20 minutes.
- After baking, take out the florentines and place them flat side up. The flat side is then coated with couverture. (Melt these in the water bath during the cooling process.
