Ingredients for 3 servings:
- 300 g flour
- 1 egg(s)
- 250 ml water
- 1 pinch of salt
- possibly nutmeg
- Water (salt water)
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes
Whisk the first four ingredients into a smooth batter and mix vigorously. Then, using a tablespoon, scoop out the flour sparrows and drop them into boiling salted water. This works best if you briefly dip the spoon into the boiling water before scooping each scoop. Bring the flour sparrows to a boil briefly, then simmer for 15-20 minutes. They’re delicious as an ingredient in stews (e.g., lentil stew) or lightly toasted with an egg on top and a green salad.
