Bring the milk to a boil with sweetener if desired. In the meantime, mix the semolina with the pudding powder and, if desired, vanilla sugar. Separate the egg and briefly beat the egg white with a pinch of salt. Fill the sink with cold water – but enough so that the pot won’t submerge. When the milk boils, stir in the semolina mixture and the egg yolk and bring back to a boil briefly. Now add the egg whites and baking powder and immediately mix in the cold water sink with a mixer on high for 5 minutes. The volume should have increased considerably. Then pour the mixture into a container and refrigerate. Serve with cherries, banana, cocoa powder, or cinnamon, as desired.
