Football field muffins

Spread the love

Ingredients for 12 servings:

  • 125 g butter or margarine
  • 200 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 300 g flour
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 125 ml milk
  • 90 g desiccated coconut
  • 125 g marzipan
  • 130 g powdered sugar
  • some water
  • some food coloring, green
  • e.g. chocolate coating (e.g. dark chocolate)

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 25 minutes

For the muffins, mix the butter/margarine with the sugar and eggs. Mix the flour and baking powder together, then add the milk. Pour the batter into a muffin tin (lined with muffin cups) and bake for about 20-25 minutes at 180°C (top/bottom heat) (approximately 160°C (fan oven). For the soccer field, color the desiccated coconut with green food coloring. Mix the powdered sugar with a little water and green food coloring to make a glaze. Then, spread the muffins with icing and then dip them in the colored desiccated coconut or sprinkle them with them (coat one muffin and sprinkle with desiccated coconut at once; don’t cover all of them first, or the icing will dry out). If you like, sprinkle a circle of white desiccated coconut in the center (center/circle). For the soccer balls, divide the marzipan mixture into 12 pieces and shape them into balls. The balls are placed on toothpicks to make them easier to decorate with chocolate. To decorate, melt the chocolate over a water bath. Then, the marzipan balls are covered with chocolate to create a football pattern. A toothpick is also best for this. Then, stick the footballs in Styrofoam or a cardboard box with the toothpick until the chocolate hardens. Finally, drizzle the center of the muffins with a little icing, and place the football on top.
