Fragrant apple jelly

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 900 ml apple juice, clear
  • 1 pack of gelling sugar, extra (500 g)
  • 2 tbsp thyme, fresh or dried
  • 1 pack of citric acid

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

about 4 glasses of 200 ml each

Measure out 250 ml (1/4 l) of the apple juice and bring to a boil. Then remove from the heat and let the thyme steep for about 10 minutes. Then pour the juice through a fine sieve and top up to 900 ml with the remaining apple juice. To prepare, mix the apple juice with the gelling sugar and citric acid in a large saucepan. Bring everything to a boil over high heat, stirring constantly. Boil briskly for at least 3 minutes, stirring constantly, then remove from the heat. If necessary, skim off the jelly and immediately pour into the prepared jars. Seal the jars and turn them upside down for about 5 minutes.
