Franzbrötchen a la Maja

Spread the love

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 500 g puff pastry
  • 2 m.-sized eggs
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 50 g butter

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

First, roll out the puff pastry to a size of approximately 60 x 40 cm. Spread the melted butter over the puff pastry and sprinkle generously with the sugar/cinnamon mixture – if you like it sweeter, simply adjust the amount of sugar and cinnamon. Roll out the puff pastry lengthwise and cut into trapezoidal shapes – narrow side approx. 2 cm, wide side approx. 5 cm. Finally, place the long side on the table (or on the baking tray) and use a round wooden stick to press it into the trapezoids from above until small roses form on the right and left of the roll. Brush these roses with egg yolk and bake at 180 degrees Celsius for approx. 20 minutes. The rolls are ready when they are golden brown.
