Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 eggs
  • 225 ml milk or cream
  • some vanilla sugar
  • some cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 8 slices of white bread or toast
  • some powdered sugar
  • some butter
  • possibly breakfast bacon

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Whisk the eggs in a bowl. Stir in the milk, vanilla sugar, cinnamon, salt, and flour. Dip the white bread slices into the egg mixture until thoroughly soaked, turning several times if necessary. Melt a little butter in a pan, fry the white bread slices over medium heat for two to three minutes per side, cut diagonally, and arrange on plates. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with butter and maple syrup. Toasted bacon also tastes great with this dish.
