Fried feta cheese with tomato salad Greek style

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 200 g feta cheese
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 6 sage leaves
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 5 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 2 beef tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 6 tbsp olive oil
  • salt and pepper
  • oregano
  • Thyme
  • some olives, green

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Slice the feta cheese and dust thinly with flour. Cut the sage into thin strips and whisk with the egg. Coat the feta cheese first in the egg and then in the breadcrumbs. Mix together the lemon juice and 2 tablespoons of oil and season with salt, pepper, oregano, and thyme. Fry the breaded feta cheese in a pan with olive oil until golden brown on both sides, then drain on kitchen paper. Serve with tomato slices and olives, drizzle with a little lemon juice over the tomatoes, and sprinkle everything with oregano and thyme. This goes well with various Mediterranean side dishes, antipasti, salads, etc.
